This document part of a large event that tours the entire Turnpike so our state representatives know the needs in which need to be adressed, as well as what the future could possibly look like should trends continue. It consists of a physical tour (plus digital and physical books), a Powerpoint slideshow, and a large Major Projects document at the very end. We will be starting with the document itself.
The Turnpike System Major Projects:
Planned and Unplanned Needs
( otherwise knonw as the TPUN)
The Major Projects is the major highlight of the package. This is regularly referenced throughout the fiscal year.
My challenges for this document were to update the theme and design-- as well as make the interactive portion of the PDF as seamless as possible. I took a UX/UI approach, so that each and every page was as intuitive as possible. The theme of this document was the sense of "moving forward". From breaking ground, construction and final execution. The Turnpike has always been moving forward. I tried to emulate this with photos that revolved from early morning, to day, to that beautiful golden hours before dusk.
Some of the photos on the right are shown as the initial concept.
The draft of this document is shown below.
Please feel free to download and test the features. It is interactive and navigational all throughout. For an example of the prior years' version, I will post it at the bottom for your curiosity's sake.
Powerpoint Presentation
The initial cover was loved so much that it became the theme for the entire package. I utilized the light and dark theme to continue to give that "pressing forward" idea.
Here is the PDF version of the PPT for your viewing pleasure.
Please feel free to look through the document.
Please note some icons have not translated well through the transition.
Turnpike Tour Books
Here is the example of the Digital Turnpike Tour Book for the Central West portion of the Turnpike. This was designed to be later referenced and used in the ease of the hotel or moments of respite. The photos were all within the locations being visited.
The document shown below - please feel free to download it, it is interactive and navigational all throughout.
As promised, the last years' document. While a beautiful document, there were redundancies on the map pages I wanted to get rid of, while improving navigation.

My version, the '25 document, can navigate to and from the appendices, the Projects by Facility page, and the table of contents. The years prior, there wasn't a "package" idea; I had curated it to help our decision makers to easily identify what they needed for which project. It's hard enough for them to have to do 30 different things in any given hour, but also keeping an eye on 15 different cover designs for a single project or idea would just add to the load. I wanted to simplify their lives to increase value -- in and out of the document.
